An English poetaster and epigrammatist; born in London (?), 1679; died at Cheam, Surrey, Oct. 18, 1737. His wit was acknowledged even by Pope; and "The Apparition" (1710) and fugitive stanzas made a hit, one or two of the couplets he penned being still occasionally quoted.
