The bacillus of the septicemia of rabbits; a species found in impure river water and decayed meat brine, and closely resembling the Bacillus cholerae gallinarum. Inoculated in rabbits, mice, and birds, it produces septicemia and death. See also bacillus of Wildseuche and Bacillus bovisepticus.
