Spotted fever. Epidemic cerebrospinal meningitis, an acute infectious disease caused by the meningococcus, diplococcus intracellularis meningitidis, marked by fever and severe nervous symptoms. Inflammation of the meninges of the brain and spine are the pathological lesions of the disease.
