[Latin] Resembling the chorion, especially in vascularity. C. membrane (or simply C.), the posterior segment of the uvea, or middle tunic of the eye. It is composed largely of blood-vessels, and is deeply pigmented. Its function is to nourish the retina and lens. C. plexus, a very vascular fringe-like membrane formed by the projection of the pia mater into the interior of the lateral, third, and fourth ventricles. That of the lateral ventricle is supplied by the C. arteries (Anterior, derived from the internal carotid, and the Posterior, from the basilar). The c. plexuses secrete the cerebro-spinal fluid.
