A Spanish poet, living in the sixteenth century. Little is known of his life, save that he took part in the war in the Netherlands. He wrote a poem, "The Invincible Knight, the Cid Ruy Diaz of Bivar" (1579); and left a collection of sonnets (1669).

- An inorganic water-soluble platinum complex. After undergoing hydrolysis, it reacts DNA produce both intra interstrand crosslinks. These crosslinks appear to impair replication and transcription of DNA. The cytotoxicity cisplatin correlates with cellular arrest in G2 phase cell cycle.
