Quality of that which is barren. Sterility may be absolute or relative. The former depends upon some vicious conformation of the genital organs, apparent or concealed, and occasionally admits of cure. Sterility is relative when a female does not conceive with one individual, but does with another. Sterility in females is often dependent upon a condition of the uterus characterized by membranous menstruation.
