A small muscle, which passes from one arytenoid cartilage to the other, by its contraction brings them together, and diminishes the aperture of the glottis. Winslow divided the muscle into three portions;- the Arytenoidaeus transversus, or Ary-arytenoidaeus, and two Arytenoidaei obliqui.
