A noted Arabic poet; contemporaneous with Mahomet. His father was author of one of the famous seven "Mu'allakat" (prize poems). After lampooning his own brother and Mahomet, and being outlawed by the latter, Ka'b composed a eulogy on him, "The Poem of the Mantle", his best-known work. It was translated into English by Redhouse in 1880.
